Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:

-Discuss characteristics of relational autonomy.

-Discuss five strategies regarding healing from sexual trauma.
-Explain two types of therapist-patient relationships that need to be balanced regarding supportive versus excessive therapeutic relationships.
-Explain who else can be involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit besides the person harassed.
-Explain an example of a forceful cognitive intervention to use with a client’s self-defeating patterns.
-Explain what client behavior puts therapist in a position of power.
-Name three problematic feelings a therapist might experience regarding a client/patient that might lead to a sexual transgression.
